About

Our mission is to love God above all else and to love our fellow human beings into a deeper love relationship with Him.

Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.

Jesus lived by the premise, “I will show you my faith by my deeds. James 2:18. We strive to live out the same principle.

The Community Closet thrift store in downtown Cohoes offers gently used clothing, linens, and small household items for sale at reduced prices. Your purchase helps us respond to our neighbor’s needs. We provide free items to those who need them most.

By building relationships with folks in the community, we are able to help people find the assistance and services they need most.

We welcome your donations of clothes, housewares, and bedding during store hours. Financial donations are always appreciated. All funds remain in the area, at work in the local community. All donations are tax-deductible upon request.

On Thursdays at 7PM, we open the doors of the Community Closet for prayer and bible study. We sing a hymn or two, talk, study, make new friends, and grow deeper in our relationship with God. This is an ongoing gathering, and all are welcome. It’s a great way to get to know other people from the local community in a non-church setting.

Our location in the Downtown Cohoes Historic District makes it easy to drop in after work, before or after catching a bite to eat, or while going for an evening stroll.

We meet Thursdays at 7PM for one-half hour.
